The management of Solar Semiconductor is comprised of the following strong group of individuals with complementary and diverse backgrounds. 
                          

Hari Surapaneni
President & CEO

Hari has been a Silicon Valley veteran for over twenty years in the semiconductor technology industry. He worked in various engineering leadership positions in VLSI development of Communications and Processor products at National Semiconductor Corporation, Amdahl Corporation, TRW Defense Systems before he founded Chiplogic in 1997. Chiplogic was a Network Processor company for the Customer Premises Equipment market. Products are designed to carry multi-service traffic (voice, video and data) over the broadband pipe to the premises. Chiplogic was acquired by Analog Devices, Inc at the beginning of 2001 and Hari joined ADI as Senior Product Line Director of the Network Media Platforms Product Line. 

In this role Hari grew the service provider focused business, addressing IP communications and Triple play strategies including IP STB strategies.

Hari holds an MSCS from Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai and an MSCE from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX.

 

SSN Prasad
Director

SSN has a distinguished track record of over 25 years in leading high-growth public and private technology companies. Prior to joining Solar Semiconductor he was the Managing Director of Hyderabad Design Centre (HDC) of Analog Devices India, Private Limited (ADI). He co-founded Chiplogic India, Pvt. Ltd. in May 1998, specializing in VLSI Design, Systems Software and DSP Software and developed it into a center of excellence in the Networking space.

Prior to Chiplogic India, he was with Semiconductor Complex Ltd. (SCL), Chandigarh from 1980 to 1998. He held various senior level management positions in the Company. At SCL, he set up an integrated Six inch Wafer Fabrication, VLSI Design, Test & Packaging and QA facilities with an investment of over US$100M. 

Prasad has a passion for start up operations and he is strong in technology transfer, technology development and Quality Management Systems (QMS).

He holds an M.Tech. degree in Microelectronics from IIT Delhi, India and a B.Tech. degree in Electronics and Communications from REC, Warangal, India. He is member of IEEE and IETE.

Nava Akkineni
Executive Vice President

Nava has more than 26 years experience in sales, marketing, operations and senior management working for both industry leading companies and start ups. He has significant international experience managing the American, European and Asian regions for several years.

He held senior management level positions with industry leading companies. He combines a technology, engineering, marketing and business development background with business expertise in the PC, Peripheral, Communications, Consumer electronics and Semiconductor industries.

Before joining Solar Semiconductor, in his last job at BenQ America he was Vice President and General Manager of the Canada operations. Earlier he was a Marketing Director of the Network Media Platform for Analog Devices. He also held senior positions as Operations Director, Deputy Managing Director and General Manager for Acer Computer M.E.Ltd. In 2000, Nava joined as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for a Silicon Valley start-up company in Santa Clara, CA, USA and participated in the successful sale of that company.

Nava holds a Master's Degree from Regional Engineering College, Warangal, India and a PG Diploma in Business Management. 


B S Mantha
Vice President & Head - Systems Business Unit
Mantha has more than 23 years of experience in Operations, Franchise, Profit Center and senior management working for both industry leading companies and start ups. He is an acknowledged expert in government and large accounts management and has significant experience in selling to government and large corporate. 

Mantha joined Solar Semiconductor in April 2008 as Head – Operations and moved to Head – Asia Pacific Sales. He brought along with him significant years of SBU management experience. 

Prior to Solar Semiconductor, he was Head – Large accounts at Tally, a world-leading accounting software company. Mantha was instrumental in bringing Large Account focus at product company Tally

Before joining Tally, Mantha served as Regional, Zonal and National Head at APTECH. He was instrumental in creating and managing a significant opportunity in Government for APTECH Products. APTECH attained a leadership status in government vertical in a very short time during his tenure

Mantha holds an MBA from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore. He is an accredited trainer in Entrepreneurship Motivation Training (EMT LAB) and achieved this from Post Graduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development from Ministry of Industries, Government of India. He has also done an Advanced Program in Strategic Management from Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata.

Jatin Roy
Vice President - Research & Development

Dr. Roy is a well-known professional in the Semiconductor Technology area and has a distinguished career record of over 24 years. He has strong expertise in VLSI, particularly in the area of Technology Development. He has developed many technologies such as CMOS, EEPROM, CCD, MEMS, etc. and produced several high-end products using these. He is also well known for his strong expertise in Semiconductor Device Modeling, Mixed Signal Design and Thin Film Technologies. 

He was with Semiconductor Complex Limited (SCL) from January 1984 onwards and was a part of the Senior Management Team. He was responsible for the development activities of the company in the area of VLSI Technology and Design. He was also involved in building the wafer fabrication facility. 

He holds a Ph.D. from IIT Kharagpur, India. He is a Fellow Indian National Academy of Engineers (FNAE), Senior Member IEEE (SMIEE) and Fellow IMS. He holds the honorary post of Chairperson of IEEE Chandigarh sub section and Secretary of IMS. He was awarded best innovator award from EDN-Asia. He has more than 60 publications in journals/conferences. 


Mike Ross,
VP, Corporate Development 
Corporate Counsel 

Mike Ross joined as the Vice President of Administration, Human Resources and Legal in Sep 2008 and also assumed the role of Secretary in Oct 2008. Mike has more than 23 years of experience in legal, finance and general administration in law firms, private and public companies. Mike successfully guided legal, financing and M&A departments of a sixty million USD revenue private company and helped it grow to become a public company with over two billion USD in revenue.

Most recently, Mike served as Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Financial Officer, of Advanced Power Projects, a privately held alternative energy company that applies advanced power technologies to enable existing power plants to generate more power at lower cost with reduced air emissions. 

Prior to that Mike was Vice President, General Counsel and Assistant Secretary of Atmel Corporation, a publicly held integrated circuits manufacturer for nearly eighteen years.
