SOLARIA CORPORATION PARTNERS WITH SOLAR SEMICONDUCTOR TO ACCELERATE MANUFACTURING IN INDIA

Hyderabad, 10th December, 2010 -- Solar Semiconductor Inc., a leading provider of solar PV products and solutions, announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Solaria Corporation, a global manufacturer of cost effective solar PV modules, to produce Solaria's patented product at its manufacturing plant in Hyderabad.

"We are pleased to join Solar Semiconductor as our manufacturing provider in India," said Dan Shugar, CEO of Solaria. "India is blessed with 300 days of sunshine a year. Together with Solar Semiconductor, we will support India to realize its vision of 20 GW of clean solar power by 2020 - a vastly superior choice to coal and other polluting fossil fuels."

"We're excited to be working with Solaria; their patented PV modules offer potential breakthrough in crystalline silicon PV module economics," said Solar Semiconductor CEO Hari Surapaneni. "Additionally, Solaria's management team has an outstanding track record of delivering results in the PV and semiconductor industries."

"Solar Semiconductor has excellent engineering, manufacturing capabilities, and quality focus in their ISO9001 facility," added Mr. Shugar. "Together we commissioned Solaria's proprietary manufacturing process equipment at Solar Semiconductor earlier this year - valued at tens of millions of dollars in development and capital equipment, and have already produced and shipped modules for solar power systems in India and Europe. In this era of Indo-U.S. partnership, Solaria and Solar Semiconductor are leading the way to advance the deployment of clean, solar energy."

Solar Semiconductor's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility will enable Solaria to accelerate production to meet strong demand for its product in India. Solaria is also expanding its Fremont, California manufacturing facility which it operates for the US and other markets.

Solaria modules provide electric utilities, project developers and system integrators with cost effective and reliable PV modules for solar tracking installations. Solaria modules are certified to UL and IEC standards, and combine the benefits of a traditional crystalline silicon module with substantial cost reduction through innovations in optical design and manufacturing technology.

Solar energy has vast potential for job growth, increased clean energy capacity and pollution reduction in India and the rest of the world. Over 150 new jobs have already been created in India and the United States to support Solaria's line at Solar Semiconductor's plant.

"We commend the State and national leaders in India for creating the long-term stability and visibility we need in the solar market to open this facility," added Mr. Surapaneni. "The leadership on Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission policy and the SIPS policy for setting up Semiconductor and Solar manufacturing equipment along with the global policies in Europe and North America to promote the widespread use for solar energy provide us with the confidence to further invest in our home state, AP. With cumulative shipments of over 160 MW across the globe, Solar Semiconductor has established a leadership position globally".
